“If you told me I should take two players off the Tottenham team for this game, Xavi Simons and Dom Solanke would be my last choices. Both of them are out of this game! How are Spurs even going to win against Villa without them?” Merson said.
The former Arsenal midfielder also noted how West Ham’s result could indirectly shape Tottenham’s mindset heading into the fixture. If West Ham had picked up a win, Spurs would have been under even greater pressure. As it stands, the relegation battle remains finely poised, with momentum swinging week by week.
