If luck strikes in the 305, here is how the Heat’s big board should look:
1. AJ Dybantsa (Forward, BYU)

The Skinny: Dybantsa is the undisputed prize of the 2026 class. A 6-foot-9 “downhill monster,” he dominated the Big 12 as a freshman. While his handle still needs tightening, his athleticism and scoring gravity are “franchise-changing.” For a Heat team often searching for a primary scoring engine, Dybantsa is the ultimate slam dunk.
2. Darryn Peterson (Guard, Kansas)
The Stats: 20.2 PPG | 4.2 REB | 1.4 STL | 57.8% TS
The Skinny: Despite playing through minor injuries at Kansas, Peterson proved he is a high-ceiling shot creator. At 6-foot-5, he offers significantly more defensive upside than Tyler Herro. In the Heat’s developmental system, Peterson could evolve into a two-way star who thrives both on and off the ball.
3. Caleb Wilson (Forward, North Carolina)
The Stats: 19.8 PPG | 9.4 REB | 1.4 BLK | 57.8% FG
The Skinny: If you were to build a “Heat Culture” prospect in a lab, it would be Caleb Wilson.
- The Fit: Standing 6-foot-10 with elite athleticism and an “insane” motor, Wilson covers massive amounts of ground.
- The Potential: Imagine a frontcourt featuring Bam Adebayo, Kel’el Ware, and Wilson. Erik Spoelstra would have a defensive Swiss Army knife capable of switching everything and protecting the rim.
4. Darius Acuff (Point Guard, Arkansas)
The Stats: 23.5 PPG | 6.4 AST | 48.4% FG
The Skinny: Acuff is widely regarded as the best pure playmaker in the class. He is an elite processor who can manipulate any defensive coverage. While his height (6’3″) and “catastrophically bad” defense are concerns, his ability to act as a Day 1 offensive engine is something Miami hasn’t had in years.
5. Cameron Boozer (Forward, Duke)
The Stats: 22.5 PPG | 10.2 REB | 4.1 AST | 65.3% TS
The Skinny: Boozer is arguably the most polished player in the draft. He is a “rock-solid” team defender and a brilliant offensive processor. The only reason he sits at five on this list is a lack of vertical athleticism; however, his “below-the-rim” efficiency would still make him a star in just about any system.
The “Giannis” Elephant in the Room
While the draft provides hope, the Heat community is also abuzz with rumors surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo. Reports suggest the Bucks want clarity on Giannis’s future before the June 23 Draft.
However, many Heat insiders are cooling on the “pipe dream.” Acquiring Giannis would likely require a massive haul—potentially including Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, and multiple first-round picks. With a salary north of $70 million per year on the horizon, some fans argue Miami is better off building around its young trio of Jaquez, Ware, and Pelle Larsson.

The odds of staying at No. 13 are a staggering 92.9%. While Heat fans should prepare to scout prospects in that range, the 4.7% chance of a top-tier star provides a glimmer of hope for a franchise looking for its next great era.
