Leeds United’s summer transfer business could be far from over, with fresh reports claiming the Whites are now in discussions to sign highly-rated Mali international striker Lassine Sinayoko.
Despite strengthening their attack last summer with the arrivals of Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Daniel Farke is still determined to add more quality to his frontline ahead of another demanding Premier League campaign.
After securing a comfortable mid-table finish last season, Leeds are looking to take the next step and establish themselves as a serious force in the top flight. To do that, the club knows they need more goals and greater consistency in the final third.

Last season exposed one major weakness in Farke’s side: a lack of cutting edge in attack.

Why Sinayoko Fits Leeds Perfectly
Sinayoko’s profile appears tailor-made for the Premier League.
Standing at over six feet tall, the Mali international combines physical strength with excellent movement and hold-up play. He is capable of leading the line on his own and can also play in a front two, giving Farke valuable tactical flexibility.
The striker’s style has drawn comparisons with both Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha, but his pace and ability to stretch defences add another dimension to Leeds’ attack.
At international level, Sinayoko has also proven his quality, earning 30 caps for Mali and scoring 10 goals for his country.
Contract Situation Gives Leeds Hope
Another reason for Leeds’ growing interest is Sinayoko’s contract situation.
The striker has entered the final year of his deal with Auxerre, meaning the French side may be forced to consider offers this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing in 2027.
Speaking recently about his future, Sinayoko admitted that transfer speculation is inevitable but insisted that the final decision will not rest solely with him.
“It’s a period I really enjoy because I want to know what’s happening and where everyone is going. But now, it’s no longer my responsibility,” he said.
His comments have only intensified speculation that a move could be on the cards.
