Manchester United have made their position crystal clear on Amad Diallo’s future, and it’s not good news for Newcastle United, who are among the clubs eyeing a summer move for the in-form Ivorian winger.

According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion are both keen on bringing Diallo to their respective clubs this summer. AC Milan have also been credited with interest, with former United manager Ruben Amorim reportedly personally keen on a reunion with the winger in Italy.
For Newcastle specifically, adding a player of Diallo’s quality would represent a significant boost to Eddie Howe’s attacking options, particularly with the club already searching for reinforcements out wide this summer.
United Shut the Door
Despite that interest, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has made clear that Manchester United have no intention of selling. Posting on X, Romano confirmed that Diallo’s camp were informed back in June of United’s stance, stating there is no intention to sell this summer. He added that despite links with several clubs, United maintain they want to keep and trust Amad.
That’s a firm and unambiguous message to any interested party, Newcastle included.
Why United Are So Determined to Keep Him
It’s easy to understand why. Diallo has established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in the Premier League, and he’s tied to Old Trafford on a contract running until the summer of 2030, with the option for a further year. The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international, who featured at the ongoing 2026 World Cup, contributed two goals and four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions for United last season.
For a club looking to build genuine stability and quality under the current regime, letting a player of that caliber and contract length walk simply doesn’t make sense, regardless of who comes calling.
