”I suspect that when you do the maths on it, Leicester will settle it and Leeds will accept a relatively small amount to settle it,” Borson told Football Insider.
Borson highlighted the immense difficulty Leeds would face in proving definitively that Leicester’s points deduction directly cost them seven or more points in the standings, making a court battle an unpredictable gamble for both sides. “It just seems to me that they can’t be sure in any way… I find it hard to believe that Leeds could have a strong level of confidence that they can get a hearing to agree with them that Leicester would have got seven or more points fewer. That feels like a lot.”
