Now, facing internal financial pressures, Marseille are open to parting ways with the Brazilian to generate funds. While Leeds retain a strong long-term admiration for the player, a significant hurdle remains in negotiations: Marseille owner Frank McCourt is reportedly demanding a steep fee in excess of €40–50 million (£34m–£43m), whereas the Whites value a potential deal closer to the £30 million mark.
