Late Drama at Selhurst Park: Zian Flemming Fires Ipswich to Dramatic 3-2 Win Over 10-Man Crystal Palace

Zian Flemming etched his name into Ipswich Town folklore with a dramatic 90th-minute winner, snatching a thrilling 3-2 victory against a resilient 10-man Crystal Palace side in a Premier League classic at Selhurst Park.

The victory marks Ipswich’s second win of the Premier League campaign and their first away triumph in the top flight since April 2025, handing Nuno Espirito Santo’s men a massive boost while condemning the Eagles to their third defeat in four league matches.

How the Action Unfolded

Palace started on the front foot and broke the deadlock after 14 minutes when Daichi Khalaili turned in an opener with the aid of a deflection off Leif Davis. However, Ipswich responded against the run of play in the 23rd minute when Davis whipped in a cross for Emersonn, who nodded home unmarked to level the scores.

The match shifted dramatically in the 34th minute when Crystal Palace defender Axel Disasi was shown a straight red card for a dangerous, studs-up challenge on Jack Clarke. The Tractor Boys immediately capitalized on their numerical advantage right before the break, with Davis arriving at the back post to turn in a clever flick-on from Emersonn and make it 2-1.

Palace Fightback and Flemming’s Late Winner

Despite playing a man down for the majority of the contest, Palace found a second wind after the interval. Jørgen Strand Larsen hauled the hosts level in the 75th minute, smartly turning away from Issa Diop before firing a precise shot past goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen into the bottom corner.

The Eagles even threatened to complete an improbable turnaround when Scherpen spilled a cross into the path of Khalaili, who agonizingly blazed over from close range.

Just as it appeared Palace had secured a hard-earned point, Ipswich struck the decisive blow in the final minute of regulation. Substitute Julio Enciso delivered a cross that saw Davis loop a header against the crossbar, allowing Flemming to react quickest and force home the rebound for his maiden goal in Ipswich colors.
