Leicester’s potential signing of Sensi under threat due to mind-boggling amount of red tape associated with inter-disciplinary records

Leicester City of the Championship League is still negotiating with Inter for the transfer of midfielder Stefano Sensi in January. However, due to a lack of midfield options caused by disciplinary issues, Inter may delay their dealings with Leicester.

During the Supercoppa Italiana final against Napoli on Monday, Inter received four bookings, including ones for Lautaro Martinez and Stefan de Vrij. While these aren’t too concerning, starting midfielders Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella have both accumulated five yellow cards this season and are now suspended for the upcoming Serie A match against Fiorentina.

Before their participation in the Supercoppa, Inter was leading the Serie A table but now Juventus, with one game in hand, is one point ahead. Their next crucial game will be against Juventus as they continue their quest for the 2023-24 Serie A title.

With Calhanoglu and Barella suspended for the Fiorentina match, reports suggest that Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asslani will likely join Henrikh Mkhitaryan in midfield. Davy Klaassen and the Leicester-linked Sensi will also be on the bench.

If Sensi is to join Leicester, it is unlikely to happen until after the Fiorentina match which is scheduled for Sunday evening at 19:45 GMT.
