Following the Boston Celtics’ victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 3rd, Jaylen Brown revealed to NBA reporters that he is currently dealing with a left hand injury. Despite this setback, Brown is confident that he won’t have to sit out any games moving forward.
Known as one of the top players in the league, Brown is having a standout season with averages of 23.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. His shooting percentages are equally impressive, with 50.1% from the field, 35.8% from three-point range, and 70.1% from the free-throw line.
Last summer, the Celtics secured Brown with a lucrative five-year, $286 million extension. This season, he is earning $28.5 million, with his salary set to increase to $49.4 million by the 2024-25 season.
Boston currently holds the best record in the NBA at 60-16 and has secured home-court advantage throughout the 2024 playoffs. Brown emphasized the importance of mental preparation for challenges during the postseason, acknowledging that every team will start with a clean slate once the playoffs begin.
