While teammates addressed questions ahead of a pivotal Game 5 matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Barrett’s reactions from the sidelines added a lighthearted twist. At one point, Raptors guard Jamal Shead was asked to share something he didn’t like about Barrett. Without hesitation, Shead joked about Barrett’s unchanging hairstyle—a comment that drew laughter from both the room and Barrett himself, who seemed to agree with the critique.
Beyond the humor, Shead was quick to highlight Barrett’s impact on the court. Once criticized for his defensive limitations, Barrett has made a strong statement this postseason by stepping up defensively. His efforts have played a key role in slowing down star opponents like Donovan Mitchell and James Harden, contributing to a surge of turnovers in recent games.
Head coach Darko Rajaković also commended Barrett’s performance, emphasizing how playoff basketball often reveals a player’s true character. According to Rajaković, Barrett has shown determination and a willingness to influence games in multiple ways.
Statistically, Barrett’s contributions have been just as impressive. The 25-year-old has emerged as one of the most clutch performers in the playoffs so far, leading all players in fourth-quarter scoring through the first four games of the series.
