Spurs Hijack! Tottenham ‘Working on Deal’ for £100m Sandro Tonali as De Zerbi Plots Sensational £185m Double Midfield Raid

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer rebuild has officially kicked into overdrive. In a series of stunning transfer developments, Roberto De Zerbi’s side has aggressively burst into the race to sign Newcastle United’s powerhouse midfielder Sandro Tonali, while simultaneously closing in on a second blockbuster signing to completely transform the club’s engine room.

According to transfer authority Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are actively working on a deal for the £100 million-rated Italian, completely disrupting the plans of both Manchester United and Manchester City.

The £100m Italian Job: De Zerbi Drives Tonali Push

While Arsenal made inquiries in January and Manchester United recently backed away due to Newcastle’s steep £100 million price tag, Tottenham has emerged as a genuine threat to secure Tonali’s signature.

De Zerbi is demanding elite, marquee additions to spearhead his tactical vision in North London. Having already secured Andy Robertson, Jan Paul van Hecke, and Marcos Senesi, the Italian tactician has put Tonali at the absolute top of his wishlist.

“Tottenham are working on a deal for Sandro Tonali. Tottenham are aware of the player being open to joining,” Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel. “As of today… I keep telling you Sandro Tonali and Tottenham, wanted by Roberto De Zerbi in talks. So, deal on.”

The Second Blow: Spurs Poised to Snatch Mateus Fernandes

In an even bigger twist for rival fanbases, Tottenham isn’t stopping at Tonali. According to reports from Matteo Moretto, Spurs are “very close to reaching an agreement” over personal terms with West Ham United’s breakout star, Mateus Fernandes.

While Old Trafford was widely considered to be Fernandes’ preferred landing spot, the Portuguese midfielder is reportedly highly intrigued by De Zerbi’s project. Once personal terms are fully finalized, Spurs are prepared to launch official negotiations with West Ham for a package expected to sit around £80–85 million.

The Ultimate Midfield Makeover

Tottenham’s audacious strategy is to secure both superstars rather than choosing between them, representing a staggering £185 million midfield overhaul.

However, time is of the essence. Manchester United is concurrently launching an “aggressive push” of their own to lure Fernandes and teammate Crysencio Summerville to Old Trafford in a combined £130 million swoop. Should the financial demands for Tonali or Fernandes spiral out of control, internal sources confirm that Tottenham has already lined up Crystal Palace sensation Adam Wharton as their primary fallback option.
